Medicare Rebates

Under the Medicare ‘Better Access to Mental Health’ scheme, clients with a diagnosable mental health condition can obtain a rebate of $93.35 for each session with a Registered Psychologist.

This rebate is for up to 10 therapy sessions in each calendar year. To be eligible to receive the rebate you must visit your GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician and obtain a referral for psychological services under a Mental Health Care Plan as part of your overall treatment plan.

For your convenience, therapists at Peak Elevation Psychology are able to provide immediate Medicare rebate claims at the time of your appointment. Alternatively, you will be provided with a receipt to use with your smart phone MyGov app, or to take to Medicare.

NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the current way of providing support for Australians with disability, their families and carers.

At Peak Elevation Psychology, we are able to see NDIS participants who are self-managing their plan, or are using a plan-management organisation to handle their funding. We do not work through the NDIS portal, and encourage all NDIS participants to self-manage or plan-manage the therapy portion of their funding to retain the ability to choose their own practitioner.

Peak Elevation Psychology follows the NDIS Price Guide fee of $214.41 per hour for psychological services. There will be no out of pocket costs for NDIS participants who utilise their plan and allocated funding.
Additional fees are payable for reports, support letter, emailed session overviews, liaising with the participants’ support network, stakeholder meetings and other correspondence that is classified as supporting the participant and/or involving their care and safety. These additional fees account for the out of hours overtime required. Please provide your psychologist with as much notice as possible o complete your request, with a minimum of 2-4 weeks’ notice.
